Media and communications group, Aegis, has announced the acquisition of Turkish market research firm, Plus REMARK, for a total cash consideration of £4 million.
The business will be integrated into Aegis’ research arm Synovate’s worldwide network, giving the media company access to the increasing research market in Turkey.
Commenting on the deal, Robert Lerwill chief executive officer of Aegis Group said: “Plus REMARK fits very neatly into Synovates’s geographical footprint, and takes us into an important new market.”
He continued: “This will help Synovate’s existing clients, while our new clients will get access to all of Synovate’s services to today’s fastest-growing research markets, today’s addition will only enhance that.”
According to Aegis, the market research market in Turkey is expected to grow by 15% this year, with Plus REMARK already having established expertise across major segments, including financial services, consumer goods, automotive, industrial products, IT, telecoms and media.
Aegis recently purchased French digital agencies Planete Interactive and Webcontents, planning to integrate then into its Isobar network (see Aegis Furthers Digital Network).
The deal sees the two companies purchased for a total cash consideration of €9 million payable over three years and subject to strict performance conditions.
