AOL is set to launch a new online music portal with upcoming releases, exclusive videos and performances.
AOL Music’s new site, named Spinner, will also feature stories and scoops on music artists, a guide to top music venues in the UK, weekly highlights on festivals, pre-release clips and live performances.
The online inventory will be sold by AOL’s ad sales operation AOL Advertising, which replaced Platform-A just ten months after it was launched (see AOL rebrands Platform-A).
AOL Music currently pulls in 53 million unique users in Europe and around 122 million global visitors, while the US version of Spinner attracts more than 6.5 million unique users from around the world, according to comScore data.
Spinner is AOL’s latest website launch, following its new classifieds site, which falls under the new AOL Media brand, and its new online gaming site Flytrapgames.com.
