Apple has reportedly halved the minimum spend for its mobile advertising platform iAd from $1 million to $500,000.

The news comes ahead of Apple’s iPad 2 launch. The company is set to unveil the latest tablet device in San Francisco next week.

Invites to the event run with the tagline ‘Come see what 2011 will be the year of’.

The next generation iPad is expected to be slimmer than the existing model and have both front and rear cameras, similar to the iPhone 4 handset.
