Apple’s share of mobile web usage across the globe has fallen 10% over the last year, while rival Android is up almost the same amount, according to research from Statista.
In August 2012, Apple’s share of mobile web usage stood at a clear majority of 65.9% – significantly ahead of Android at 20.9% and Blackberry at well under 5%.
In one year, Apple’s share has fallen to just under 55%, while Android usage has climbed to almost 30%, continuing to close the gap between the two.
Java ME, Blackberry, Symbian and ‘other’ offerings have all remained relatively stable across the year.
