Regional media company Archant has appointed Mike Walsh to its main board as a non-executive director.
Walsh is currently director of the advertising agency Ogilvy & Mather South Africa and Ogilvy & Mather Africa Inc as well as a non-executive of global brand company The Brand Union.
He has years of experience in the ad industry, and also acts as a vice president of business development for Velti Plc, a mobile marketing company.
“I am delighted to be joining Archant; it is a progressive regional media company and I look forward to working with the strong management team at an exciting and challenging time,” Walsh said. “Having worked in media for some 38 years I look forward to learning about the company and contributing my experience to its development.”
Archant’s chairman, Richard Jewson, added: “To have someone of Mike’s calibre and experience, particularly in the advertising industry and in new media, joining the board will add strength and depth to our team and I am sure will benefit the business in many different ways.”
In previous roles, Walsh has worked on various brands, including Heinz baked beans, Cadbury’s chocolate and Baileys Irish Cream.
