Attic Futura To Be Sold Off By Parent Company

Magazine publisher Attic Futura is to be sold by parent company PMP, which in turn is to merge with Australia’s Independent Print Media Group. In the UK Attic Futura publishes Shine, CD:UK, Inside Soap and All About Soap in addition to B and Sugar which are joint ventures with UK and German-based publisher North South. It recently pulled the plug on Good Health and Real Health & Beauty.

PMP has negotiated an asset swap with North South which will allow it to take back full control of B in the UK and Australia and Sugar in the UK, so that they can be included in the sale. In return North South gets control of Hit! and FHM in Germany and a cash sum.

The sale of PMP’s UK publishing interests is expected to raise £56m, which will be used to relieve some of its £144m debt.
