BARB has appointed Joe Lewis as its new research manager.

Lewis will be taking over from Simon Bolus, who has in turn been promoted to research director.

Lewis joins BARB from GfK NOP Media, where he was associate director.

Before that position, he was research manager for AGB Nielsen Media Research.

Simon Bolus said: “I am delighted to appoint Joe as BARB’s new Research Manager.

“Joe is a highly numerate researcher specialising in audience measurement, reporting and analysis, and has a strong client handling ability which will be a valuable contribution to our work in ensuring an effective dialogue with our stakeholders.”

BARB reports UK television audiences, and started reporting these in 1981. It introduced a new television audience measurement service in January 2010.

It is a not-for-profit limited company owned by BBC, ITV, Channel 4, five, BSkyB and the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising.
