The BBC and US television venture, ABC, have struck up a partnership which will enable them to create one of the largest international news gathering services in the world. The two companies plan to exchange news coverage and to share broadcasting facilities, while also making ABC news available to BBC World Service Television. The partnership was announced just days after Cable Network News (CNN) revealed plans to expand its international news coverage (Newsline 22/3).
