Almost 60,000 copies of the Government document of the future of the BBC have already been requested by the public, according to the National Heritage Secretary, Peter Brooke.
In a meeting of the Voice of the Listener and Viewer he revealed that a further 5,000 copies of the full consultation document have been sold, and the Government has received 4,500 responses to the debate, which will run until April 30.
Mr Brooke commented “I welcome the BBC’s initiative in holding meetings in different parts of the country to hear people’s views about its future”.
