Big Brother Fireworks Secure Ratings Win

Big Brother Channel 4 scooped prime time victory last night, with almost 5 million adult viewers tuning in to see fireworks erupt between the Celebrity Big Brother contestants.

An average audience of 4.9 million for Channel 4 secured victory over ITV1’s Holiday Showdown, with 3.2 million, and BBC One’s Surviving Disaster with 2.6 million.

The effects of Big Brother‘s clashing contestants look set to continue tonight, with an eviction special almost certain to see MP George Galloway exit the house.

Should Galloway leave, Channel 4 is sure to see a second consecutive ratings high, as the MP faces public abuse and repulsion over his antics so far in the series.

Elsewhere, Five’s high point came last night with its screening of ratings reliable, CSI. A double bill of the detective franchise drew average audiences of 1.9 million and 1.7 million respectively.
