Bluetooth Meets Its Waterloo

Bluetooth Meets Its Waterloo

City A.M. City A.M. has added another string to its bow by offering a free mobile podcast to commuters with Bluetooth mobiles at London’s Waterloo and Liverpool Street stations.

It all starts this evening at 5.30pm at Waterloo – Liverpool Street takes part later in the week – with animated commercials on Titan Transvision screens urging passers-by to turn on the Bluetooth function of their phones to download CITY P.M., CITY A.M.’s daily 5-minute business news podcast.

The project, conceived by out of home media agency Kinetic in partnership with City A.M., will see the 15-second commercials run every two minutes from 5.30pm to 7pm, which adds up to a total of 45 spots a day.

The service is able to provide up to 150 simultaneous Bluetooth downloads and, as part of this advertising blitz, Capital Spreads, sponsors of the CITY P.M. podcast are expected to achieve over 1.6m impacts per week from appearing in the Transvision advertisements.

Eric Newnham, Global CEO of Kinetic, said: “This demonstrates outdoor’s ability to embrace new technologies and at the same time bring relevant messages to the consumer.”

“We identified that we were able to take this online strategy to Outdoor and deliver high value content to people on the move.”
