Bridget Jones To Take Over Wanadoo Homepage

Digital and direct marketing agency Zed Media has secured a deal that will see United International Pictures take-over the Wanadoo homepage to promote the release of Bridget Jones 2: The Edge of Reason.

The campaign, which follows on from similar take-over activity on Yahoo and MSN earlier this year, will see an overlay presented to every Wanadoo user for the whole day of the film’s release on 11 November.

There will also be a special Bridget Jones channel available at www.wanadoo.co.uk/bridgetjones2 featuring trailers, movie reviews and links to other sites. Users will be able to access a Bridget Jones exercise regime and a desktop download offering regular alerts in the run up to the films release.

Commenting on the initiative, Marco Bertozzi, commercial director at Zed Media, said: “Wanadoo was a perfect fit in terms of audience and also allowed us the flexibility to generate media firsts in the form of the The Bridget Jones 2: The Edge of Reason Channel and homepage take-over. It is our aim to continue to push the advertising boundaries on UIP and find new ways to bring the film experience to users online.”

Earlier this year Zed Media, which is owned by ZenithOptimedia, secured a deal with DreamWorks to promote its new movie The Terminal through a unique MSN Homepage take-over targeting over three million internet users. The deal was the first of its kind for MSN and saw a combination of image overlay advertising and streamed video carried on the popular internet portal (see MSN To Transform Homepage With Terminal Promotion).
