Capital 95.8 Signs Simpsons Movie Deal

Gcap Logo GCap Media’s Capital 95.8 has signed a multi media promotional deal with 20th Century Fox to support the DVD release of The Simpsons Movie on 10th December 2007.

Launching on-air on Monday 10th December, listeners of Johnny Vaughan’s Breakfast Show can text in to guess how fast a Simpsons Movie character is talking.

If guessed correctly, the caller will win a VIP trip to Hollywood including a ‘money can’t buy’ tour of the Fox Studios, where The Simpsons Movie was created.

Alongside the on-air activity, The Simpsons Movie bus will visit two different London locations each day. Throughout the week at 12pm James Cannon will announce a key word and direct listeners to the location of the bus.

The first 100 people to arrive and say the key word will win a collection of limited edition Simpsons Movie memorabilia. Chris Brookes will repeat this at 2pm every day.

The activity will be supported online with a page dedicated to the movie and promotion.

The deal was conceived and negotiated by GCap Media’s Spice account manager Lauren Stone and Leela Chivers, account manager at Vizeum.

Laura Elloway, senior brand manager at Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, said: “Combining the world’s favourite dysfunctional family with London’s favourite radio station was a perfect combination.

Lauren Stone, Spice Account Manager added: “We are so pleased to be teaming up with the Simpsons brand. We have managed to integrate this activity across all of Capital 95.8’s key platforms – on-air, online and on the road.”
