Capital Radio In New Ad Campaign

GCap Media Logo GCap Media’s Capital Radio will next week launch its first advertising campaign in 18 months, sending out a team armed with innuendo strewn notes.

The campaign launches on Monday and is based round the slogan “Who’s doing who?”. It will utilise posters, online ads, faxes to London firms and hand written notes laden with innuendo.

The campaign is intended to lure listeners to a competition where members of the public have to guess which famous singer is singing someone else’s song.

As part of the “Who’s doing who?” campaign Capital Radio’s advertising team will write questions like “Is Lily doing Justin?” across 5,000 London pub mirrors in lipstick.

The competition will see £100,000 handed out over six weeks and features unique recordings by popular artists.

Last week GCap announced that its revenues for the first six months of the year are forecast to fall by 9% year on year, with Capital’s decision to play only two ads back to back contributing to this drop.
