Capital Radio Joins MediaTrader

Capital Radio this week announced that it would be using MediaTrader to post media opportunities. They join Atlantic 252, Chrysalis Radio, Clear Channel Radio Sales, Impact, and Unique Broadcasting who are all using the online media availability service to post sponsorship, event inventory and airtime.

Colette Lister, head of trading systems at Capital said, “We are very interested in MediaTrader as it reaches a large number of the top agencies and also many regional shops”.

MediaTrader now has over 50 media owners posting inventory on its site and has been accessed by more than 1,000 users. The service allows agencies a simple and efficient means of finding relevant media opportunities from a wide range of opportunities on the internet.

The service has been well received by agencies, especially the e-mail alert facility which allows users to automatically update. Tim Forrest, media director at Rocket said, “The need to keep at the leading edge of what’s on offer is time-consuming and MediaTrader works to reduce this. I’ve signed up to receive e-mail alerts which not only pushes the creative process but means it’s informed.”

Personalisation has also gone down well, “MediaTrader is a useful resource for media planners and buyers. It enables them to keep abreast of the latest offers in an efficient way by filtering offers from a wide of media based on personal preferences,” Kevin Glynn, broadcast director at Carat, said.

Over the coming weeks MediaTrader will be launching a number of other services to create further efficiency within the trading process.
