Carlton/LWT Set Up Euro Venture

In an attempt to lure European advertisers to our screens, LWT and Carlton Television have set up a TV sales company to perform the task – proving to them that London is a very important market with a reach of 11 million people.

Among statistics quoted to advertisers is the fact that our capital accounts for 44% of the UK’s charge cards and 37% of its businessmen. The company has already managed to convince one continental advertiser to sign up, with a campaign for Lufthansa, the German airline, beginning at the end of this month.
