Trade magazine publisher Centaur Media has reported a 5% year on year increase in advertising revenues at its publishing business, led by a 20% increase in recruitment advertising.

The interim results for the four months to the end of April also reveal that online advertising increased by 11%,  representing 27% of total advertising revenue at its publishing business.

Centaur’s events business saw revenues for the four month period down slightly on the same period last year.

However, its largest exhibition, the National Homebuilding and Renovating Show, was well attended with on-site rebooking for 2011 of over 80% compared with 70% at last year’s show, while there was similar rebooking growth at the London Business Travel Show.

Looking ahead, Centaur said :”The group remains well positioned to benefit as our markets recover.

“Trading for the remainder of the financial year is expected to be in line with the board’s expectations.”
