Channel 4 Appoints BBC Worldwide’s Daniel Heaf

Channel 4 Logo Daniel Heaf, formerly of BBC Worldwide, has been appointed as head of new media, 4Radio and multimedia entertainment at Channel 4, working on a number of interactive projects, including E4 Radio.

He will work across all of Channel 4’s national digital radio stations and will have complete responsibility for the strategy development of new media extensions.

Heaf is also expected to take on a wider role at Channel 4, developing new multiplatform entertainment projects.

At BBC Worldwide, Heaf worked on websites such as Lonely Planet and Top Gear as well as BBC Teen brand Switch.

He also helped direct the corporation’s social media activity and steered Radio 1 and 1Xtra’s digital strategy.

Heaf said he was “looking forward to playing a part in helping define what an entertainment platform for young people in the 21st century should look like. The opportunity to work across TV, radio and online with such a licence to innovate is hugely exciting”.
