Channel 4 has signed a landmark agreement with Twentieth Century Fox to acquire the rights to content for its family of channels, marking the largest deal of its kind for Fox in the UK, and securing content for FilmFour’s relaunch as a free-to-air channel.
The new agreement will see Channel 4 air blockbuster titles such as The Day After Tomorrow, I Robot, Dodgeball and X-Men 3 as well as many others through to the end of 2008.
The deal was concluded by Steve Cornish, senior vice president and managing director of Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution Europe, and Jeff Ford, director of acquisitions at Channel 4.
