City AM has announced plans to up its distribution outside of London after a record month.
The business freesheet handed out more than 88,000 copies a day in January, which represents its highest distribution since it launched in September 2005, according to today’s ABC release.
As such, the company has unveiled plans to give out more papers at train stations outside of the Capital to target commuters at the beginning of their journey.
City AM will also provide copies to British Airways passengers travelling from London City Airport, according to reports.
Today’s ABC results also show that the London Evening Standard distributed around 601,960 copies, down slightly on December.
In November, the evening paper, owned by Alexander Lebedev, posted a distribution of round 596,000 in its first full month as a free newspaper.
The morning freesheet Metro, meanwhile, handed out around 1.3 million copies in the UK in January.
