Condé Nast Hands Digital Brief To Zed Media

Condé Nast has handed Zed Media, the digital arm of ZenithOptimedia, the task of increasing traffic to its network of magazine websites.

The CondéNet portfolio, which includes Vogue.com, GQ.com, Glamour.com and CNTraveller.com, currently receiver over 32 million page impressions a month and has over 1.5 million unique users. Zed Media has been given a brief to increase this by 20% over the coming year.

Zed’s appointment marks a significant commitment to digital media by Condé Nast, which has not worked with an outside agency since M&C Saatchi handled the award winning campaign for Vogue.com back in 2000.

Susan Douglas, president of new business at Condé Nast, said; “As our magazine websites have grown and prospered, we has sought a partner to help us drive traffic and appeal to a wider audience. Zed Media have huge experience and contacts and impressed us with their imaginative and practical ideas.”

Damian Burns, head of digital at Zed Media, added: “We are absolutely delighted to have been appointed by CondéNet. They have an illustrious online portfolio and to be entrusted with driving those brands forward via the digital media is a real endorsement of our capabilities.”

Zed, which is one of the largest online media agencies in the UK, specialises across all digital platforms including internet, digital interactive television, mobile and gaming. Key clients include British Airways, Hewlett Packard and UIP.

Earlier this month Zed Media secured a deal that saw United International Pictures take-over the Wanadoo homepage to promote the release of Bridget Jones 2: The Edge of Reason. The deal followed on from similar take-over activity on Yahoo and MSN (see Bridget Jones To Take Over Wanadoo Homepage).
