Consumer ABCs: TV Listings

The TV market posted a mixed bag of results in the second half of 2017, and year-on-year the market is generally in decline. However, circulation figures still remain strong.

H Bauer’s TV Choice continues to lead the market with the the highest circulation – entirely in print, like the majority of the market – of almost 1.2 million. Period-on-period circulation remained almost static (-1%) and was only down -2.5% year-on-year.

In second place is What’s on TV from Time Inc with a circulation of 896,000 (up 1.2% PoP and down -5.2% YoY), followed by Immediate Media’s Radio Times with a circulation of 632,000 (up 1.5% PoP and down -7.7% YoY).

After a tough start to the year, Time Inc’s TV Times saw a 2.2% increase PoP, perhaps benefitting from sales during the festive period.

Meanwhile, Time Inc’s Soaplife which recorded a 15.2% PoP increase in H1, saw a PoP decline of -5.7% in H2.
