From Monday the cover price of the Daily Mail is set to rise from 65p to 70p. The 5p increase is the first weekday rise since February 2016.
“Mail newspapers continues to invest in high-quality, award-winning editorial content, supported by the world’s largest newspaper loyalty programme, MyMail,” said Roland Agambar, chief marketing officer, Mail Newspapers. “These investments have led to a record-breaking year for the Daily Mail.”
The latest ABC results show the Daily Mail’s UK retail sales averaged 1.19m copies, a record market share of 25.1%, up 0.6% year-on-year.
The price hike comes as the Daily Mail welcomes its first new editor in more than 26 years. Earlier this month Geordie Greig – previously the editor of the Mail on Sunday – took over from Paul Dacre.
