Daily Record To Launch Free Paper

Daily PM The Daily Record is change its afternoon edition, Record PM, which launched last September, into a free newspaper later this month.

The Daily Record will also extend distribution of Record PM to Aberdeen and Dundee, as well as the established areas of Glasgow and Edinburgh.

The total target number of copies distributed in all four cities is estimated to be between 15,000 and 20,000 initially.

The new editions of Record PM will be hand-distributed between 5pm and 7pm each evening during the week.

The Guardian quotes Bruce Waddell, editor of the Daily Record, as saying that the paper had to “follow the reader and be bold in exploring new ways of reaching new readers”.

“Free PM will not only target new readers but also heavily promote the next day’s edition of the Daily Record.”
