Days left to enter Mediatel Media Research Awards

There’s just one week left before the final window closes for this year’s Mediatel Media Research Awards.

After a hiatus last year, the coveted awards will return for 2022 with renewed energy and fresh initiatives including:

  • a new line up of judges drawing expertise from across the industry
  • brand new categories including ‘Pulse of the nation’
  • an extension of the eligible period to cover the last two years

The final entry deadline is Friday, 29 October. Below is the full list of categories, with more details on our website.

In a tribute to the late Adrian Edwards, who was UK managing director of media software company TechEdge, one of the awards’ most popular categories has been renamed to The Adrian Edwards award for Best Use of Datasets.

At the previous awards in 2019, Wavemaker UK fought off stiff competition to take Media Agency of the Year and was praised by judges for the sheer scope of work it carried out.

Denise Turner, director of research and insight at Newsworks, said at the time: “Wavemaker rose to the top of a closely-fought category with a great catalogue of projects, using a variety of techniques and data. The common thread was a singular focus on driving actionable insight for clients.”

Meanwhile, former Grand Prix winner Channel 4 is the reigning Media Owner of the Year. Judge Brian Jacobs, founder, Brian Jacobs & Associates, said of at the previous awards: [Channel 4 had] a superb body of work including a collaboration on VOD with ITV, and – my particular favourite – the ‘Contextual Moments’ notion that sets out to demonstrate the value and importance of context.”

Winners will be revealed at a prestigious awards lunch in March 2022, with a Grand Prix award chosen from winners of the project-based categories.
