DFC Reports Boom In Streaming Adspend

In the midst of adspend gloom, DFC Intelligence reports that online video streaming growth hit 215% in 2000, including 29% via broadband, and that 15% of this video streaming inventory is now being exploited with in-stream advertising.

Paul Palumbo, author of the report, Interactive Broadcast Video: Streaming Video Market 1998-2004, noted “expanding content availability, increasing bandwidth, better promotion and program innovations really helped spur the streaming video marketplace throughout 2000.”

Some of the biggest streaming video success stories of the past year include the US election and surrounding controversy, TV show Survivor, music videos and internet films.
