Parks Associates says that as the broadband market evolves, “there will be a natural shift in the audience for broadband services, moving from the early adopter to the mass-market consumer. Consequently, consumer expectations will also change.”
The report warns that operators will need to monitor these developments in customer expectations in order gauge what types of content will be successful: “It can mean the difference between discovering new revenue opportunities or stranding millions on unwanted products and services.
“Answers to the most fundamental questions Ââ for example, which content and services should be developed, how they should be packaged and marketed Ââ must be predicated upon the subtle but significant distinctions between the early adopter and the mass market household.”
