easyJet can now ‘listen’ to Spotify users who want travel tips

Budget airline easyJet and Spotify have launched a microsite to provide personalised holiday recommendations based on users’ listening habits.

Spotify account holders can connect their account to a “Listen & Book” microsite which will identify “holiday vibes” and mood based on recent music and playlist listening history, along with the positivity of a song, energy and tempo.

They will then be offered tailored travel recommendations including destinations, nearby music venues and experiences (pictured, below).

From there, Spotify listeners can go directly to the easyJet website to book their recommended holiday across Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.

The airline and music streaming platform have described this as “a first-in-market” collaboration and marketing campaigns for the new feature will run in France, Italy, Switzerland and the UK, created by easyJet’s ad agency VCCP London.

Richard Frankel, global creative director at Spotify, said: “This creative collaboration shows what’s possible with streaming audio. Listeners engage with Spotify to experience inspiration and discovery, and our focus on personalization enables brands to cultivate meaningful interactive connections with their audiences.”
