Emap Appoints International Director To Boost FHM Brand

Emap has announced the appointment of Chris Mooney as editorial director at FHM International, charged with overseeing content in the title’s 27 unique editions world-wide.

Mooney takes up his new role from 8 November, replacing James Lawrence, who has held the title of editorial manager of FHM International for the last seven years. The appointment brings Mooney’s wealth of FHM brand experience to the international division, having previously worked as FHM.com editor, overseeing its relaunch to become Europe’s largest men’s lifestyle website with around 1.9 million unique users.

In his new position, Mooney will work alongside FHM‘s existing International team, as well as with the editorial teams across the title’s international editions, responsible for selling 26 million copies world-wide. His focus will be to build market share around the world and consolidate FHM‘s leading international position.

Mooney will also oversee the transition of FHM‘s redesign across the international network and promote the rollout of the title’s Girl Next Door Promotion. In addition, the new director’s brief will include an evaluation of the digital opportunities for the FHM brand across the international network.

Commenting on the appointment David Pullan, managing director of FHM Worldwide, said: “I am delighted Chris will be joining our international team. He is committed to driving FHM‘s innovative editorial style and unique sexy, funny, useful formula across the network.”

The move follows a recently increased emphasis by Emap on FHM‘s international development. Earlier this year the publisher announced attempts to attract global brands to FHM with the creation of a new international sales team offering advertising packages across its multi-national editions (see Emap Creates International Sales Team For FHM).
