Emap To Sell Period Homes Magazine To Centaur

Emap Logo Publishing body, Emap, has announced plans to sell Period Living and Traditional Homes magazine and website to Centaur Holdings for £1.5 million.

The magazine is the only one of its type published by Emap, catering for consumers with an interest in period homes. The monthly magazine has a monthly circulation of 55,337, according to the latest set of ABC figures.

Commenting on the disposal, Marcus Rich, director of Emap Consumer Media said: “We believe that the magazine and website will have a firmer future within a company that has a number of interests in the home market.”

The deal is expected to be completed on the 3rd February 2006.

Elsewhere in the magazine market, rival publishing company, IPC, recently announced that its psychic spin-off title, Chat – It’s Fate, has switched to monthly publication, doubling the number of issues each year to capitalise on sales growth.

The magazine, which occupies a unique position in the women’s magazine market, offers “personal psychic advice” and most “paranormal real life stories,” claiming to be “accessible, practical and life enhancing.
