Essentials to offer first interactive magazine cover

Essentials magazine has announced that it will be publishing its first interactive issue, offering readers the chance to star on the October cover.

The interactive feature will allow consumers to become a ‘cover star’ by using the Blippar application and hovering the app over the cover, before taking a photo of themselves.

The image generated will feature the reader’s picture, along with the magazine’s masthead, to create a cover which can then be shared via Facebook and Twitter.

Essentials readers will also be able to directly buy products from the pages of the magazine with any page that has a Blippar ‘B’ logo, purchasable via the app.

“Our readers love new technology and Blippar is a really fun new app they’ll enjoy,” said Essentials‘ deputy editor Lucie Tobin.

“Not only can they buy the gorgeous items they see in the pages of Essentials, they can become a cover star too. We look forward to readers sending in their cover photos via Facebook and Twitter.”

The October issue of Essentials is on sale now.
