Five Unveils Winter Line-Up

Five Logo Five has unveiled its new winter programmes for 2008, with an emphasis on human interest stories, factual programming and contemporary documentaries.

It Pays to Watch is a new programme presented by Martin Lewis showing viewers how to save money, while Britain’s Bravest tells the stories of real emergencies, rescues and bravery from around the country using testimonies and dramatic reconstruction of events.

In I Own Britain’s Best Home, a team of presenters – each representing a different field of expertise – will scour the nation for remarkable and beautiful homes before the viewer decides which deserves to be crowned Best Home in Britain.

The Rough Guide To… is a new 15-part series presented by Julia Bradbury and Toby Amies telling viewers about the very best beaches, luxury destinations and island-escapes.

Five will also be following expert brain trainer Bernadette Tynan as she embarks on a mission to Make Your Child Brilliant. Tynan will attempt to spot children who are slipping through the net of our education system, and unlock their hidden gifts.

Meanwhile, The Shop is an eight-part high street fashion entertainment series featuring entertainment stunts and guest celebrities.

Jay Hunt, Five’s director of programmes, said: “From money to food, dramatic rescue to ground breaking natural history, Five’s winter programming is distinctive and ambitious.

“I am excited to have such a creatively interesting line-up at the heart of the peak schedule.”
