Freeman Appointed GNM Commercial Director

Adam Freeman Guardian News and Media has promoted Adam Freeman to the role of commercial director, responsible for the commercial development of the Guardian Unlimited website network.

Freeman succeeds Stuart Taylor who is taking up the newly created position of commercial director of GMG Radio. Taylor transfers to the sister company in September, and will also become managing director of Smooth Radio in London (see GMG Continues Expansion With Creation Of New Role).

Freeman is currently deputy commercial director and a member of the GNM Board. He joined the group in 1992 as a client sales executive.

He left GNM in May 2000 to become sales and marketing director at emagazineshop.com, before returning in January 2002 in the role of media publisher.

At the start of 2006, Freeman was set to join I-Level spin off, Generator Consulting, but decided to remain with the Guardian (see Freeman Backtracks From I-Level To Remain At Guardian).

The Guardian Unlimited site goes from strength to strength, with ABCe recently announcing that the online portal had just over 15 million UK and international users during March (see ABCe Shows Guardian Unlimited On Top).
