Freeserve Hits It Off With Dating Direct

Freeserve has secured a deal with Dating Direct which will see the matchmaking service advertised across its women’s channel for a minimum of six months.

The campaign aims to increase the traffic to Dating Direct and adverts for the service will appear on the sex & love, health, beauty and horoscope zones of Freeserve’s homepage.

There will also be sponsorship placements and advertorial promotion of the service, as well as search-targeted marketing initiatives. The creatives will be developed in-house at Dating Direct.

Integrated advertising has proved popular with online dating services. Earlier this year, Dating Direct struck revenue-sharing deals with Emap to provide the online versions of its New Woman and Red magazines with access to its dating database. The option appears as a “bloke finder” channel on New Woman’s home page and according to Emap, has been highly successful (see Dating Direct Scores Revenue Sharing Deals With Emap).

Freeserve recently redesigned its home pages and reduced the number of pop-up ads on its sites in a bid to increase usage and make it more user-friendly (see Freeserve And Alta Vista Cut Back On Pop-Ups).
