Galaxy Signs Package Holiday Sponsorship Deal

Radio Chrysalis-owned Galaxy has brokered a 13 week sponsorship deal with low cost airline Jet2.com to promote their new service Jet2holidays.com.

The sponsorship, beginning on March 19, will include on-air promotions and sponsorship idents as well as online competitions and banner adverts.

The deal will run across the Galaxy breakfast shows in Manchester (Wes @ Breakfast) and Yorkshire (Hirsty’s Daily Dose) and during the drive time show in the North East (Sally Hudson).

Jet2.com will be using a mix of sponsorship & promotional activity to push their new low cost package holiday service jet2holidays.com.

El Long, head of broadcast at Mediavest Leeds, said: “We’re very happy to have secured these key sponsorships for Jet2holidays.com and believe the association will push the brand to the next level within the Galaxy demographic of 16-34s, an audience who will love the great value for money and range of destinations offered.”

The last RAJARs, covering the fourth quarter of 2006, revealed that Galaxy (including digital) had a weekly reach of 2.6 million and a 1.9% share of listening (see BBC Stations Continue To Perform Well).
