GCap Merges Mix And Capital Networks To Form One

Soccer AM GCap Media has merged its two FM networks to create The One Network from The Mix and Capital FM, offering more comprehensive solutions for advertisers and smoothing the path for bespoke national campaigns.

The move will see advertisers offered easily implemented advertising campaigns on a national scale through the network, which spans a massive 39 local commercial radio stations.

The brand will be marketed with the strapline Hugely Personal, a statement which GCap claims emphasises both the scale of the network and the one-to-one connections each station has within its broadcast area.

The rebranding will give advertisers unified solutions across a the network, with the opportunity to create bespoke partnerships and take advantage of common environments such as traffic & travel, breakfast, movies and drive-time on a national scale or, if desired, on selected stations.

The One Network builds on the present synergies between the two former networks, reaching 8.4m adults, including 2.6m main-shoppers with children, across the UK according to the latest RAJAR results.

The One Network logo was created by GCap Media’s internal Visual Creative team, borrowing heritage elements from both The Mix and Capital FM Network’s logos. Individual station logos remain unchanged, however.

Commenting on the move, Simon Daglish, director of national sales and trade marketing, said: “Having spoken to our customers, we believe that The One Network will reduce the complexity in radio buying and enable us to position the network more effectively against other media. We are currently formulating marketing plans for The One Network as a prime advertising proposition and to highlight its complementary positioning alongside our other brands.”
