According to a recent report by stockbrokers, Panmure Gordon, regional press will be on an upward spiral as soon as the economy shows signs of recovery. The report states that publishers should be looking towards regional press as an investment, showing classic recovery and reaping a high percentage of revenue from advertising. Eric de Bellaigue, the analyst responsible for the report believes that regional newspapers have cash generating properties which are not as apparent in other areas of the publishing sector.
