Andy Hart has left Associated Northcliffe Digital (AND) after six years in the job by “mutual consent”, ahead of an organisational restructure.
Hart had been responsible for the online development and acquisitions of sites including ThisisLondon.co.uk and FindaProperty.com during his time as chief executive.
He looked after the Mail Online brand and championed the company’s digital acquisition strategy, spending £13.8 million on FindaProperty.com and £22 million on SimplySwitch, which closed just 18 months later.
AND released a statement today saying: “The company will be making some organisational changes, as a result of which Andy and Associated have mutually agreed to part company. Andy will therefore be leaving with immediate effect.”
Since October last year, AND has been focusing on standalone websites in the jobs, property and travel sectors, running websites such as Jobsite.co.uk and LoopyLove.com.
Kevin Beattie, the group managing director of Associated Newspapers, said: “Andy should be given the recognition for having helped assemble a very strong, robust set of dynamic businesses that will help underpin the company’s future growth plans.”
