Havas appoints new head of mobile

Havas Media Group UK has appointed James Shepherd as its new head of mobile.

Shepherd will be responsible for driving mobile development across both HMG UK and Mobext, and will work with brands including O2, Pernod Ricard, Nationwide, BBC and Ubisoft.

Bringing with him 15 years’ experience, Shepherd joins the group from creative agency DF London, formerly Jam@Engine, where he has been head of mobile for eight months.

He will report into the recently appointed Julia Jordan, managing director, HMG UK investment and digital, as well as Marco Rigon, global head of Mobext.

Commenting on the appointment, Jordan said: “James brings a wealth of experience in the field of mobile and is a key addition to the team.

“Havas Media is continuously looking to grow its offer for clients by putting data and content at the core of our offering and with his expertise, James will be a vital asset as we continue to advance our cross-media offer.”

Shepherd, who has also worked with OgilvyOne and M&C Saatchi Mobile, added: “While mobile is a hugely important channel on its own, it is also woven into every other channel. The opportunity lies in identifying the role of mobile and putting it front and centre with all of the agency’s clients.

“There is still enormous scope for growth with mobile in our industry and I’m delighted to be part of a global network of seasoned experts that offer innovative, experience-driven solutions focused on delivering value to our clients.”
