EC telecommunications ministers have called for a further meeting to discuss the future of high-definition TV, claiming that the UK is delaying its progress. Britain has been accused in the past of putting its national interests above those of the other members of the EC during its presidency. An agreement on the action plan for HDTV has to be unanimous.

EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT HEARING ON ADS There will be a Public Hearing in Brussels on 25 November organised by the European Parliament, to discuss the role of advertising, how it contributes to the single market and how much ad regulation is necessary.
