Liz Howell, director of programmes at GMTV, has resigned and will be replaced by Peter McHugh current editor of ‘The Time..The Place’ – the ITV morning chat programme. The resignation comes only three days after the appointment of Greg Dyke as chairman of the ailing station, and follows Dyke’s refusal to endorse Howell’s programming strategy at his inaugural press conference last Friday.
