Independent National Radio Licences

The Radio Authority has set out rules for the potential applicants for the Independent National Radio FM licence. The applicants have been told that any records released as singles are to be excluded from the definition of non-pop music. This ruling will effect the bid being put together by Emap, Yorkshire TV and Associated Newspapers, who were planning to offer an easy listening format aimed at 35-55 year olds.
