Interview: Carat on how brands should approach mobile

Is mobile commerce stealing the pounds from the high street and desktop? This was just one of the questions tackled at a Mediatel event, in partnership with Fetch and Google, this week – which revealed some key insights into the challenges around the growing mobile app economy.

As a result, a new dialogue has opened up between clients and agencies – with Carat UK’s chief strategy officer, Dan Hagen, giving his perspective on how m-commerce is really affecting brand strategy.

“Mobile is clearly incredibly important…and it gives us ubiquitous connectivity,” he says, “but it isn’t the be all and end all.”

In the interview above, Hagen tells Newsline how brands should be approaching mobile, as well as how he thinks mobile will impact e-commerce over the next five to 10 years.
