IPC Combines Creatives For More Bespoke Ad Solutions

IPC Logo IPC Advertising has announced plans to merge the creative advertising departments of IPC SouthBank and IPC tx/Connect under the combined banner of IPC Creative.

The move will create a central resource for generating bespoke advertising solutions across IPC’s women’s portfolio, enabling agencies and clients to tap into a single department for innovative ad campaigns and promotions.

The unified creative department will offer increased design and copy-writing services through a larger staff, intended to provide advertisers with the resources to generate cut-through in an increasingly crowded print market.

The announcement marks the latest stage in IPC Advertising’s growth since the appointment of Caroline McDevitt as director of group advertising in April (see IPC Picks McDevitt For Group Ad Director Role).

Commenting on the merger, McDevitt said: “Innovation is at the top of our agenda and this is absolutely the obvious next step for IPC Advertising. Clients and agencies are increasingly demanding greater innovation and added value from our medium.

“By combining our existing resource, as well as investing in new creative talent, we are addressing that challenge and providing agencies with a single creative team with the expertise and experience to tap into the 70% of UK women who regularly read our magazines.”

The new creative team will be headed by Ben Young, who receives a promotion to the role of creative director, IPC Creative. Young will report directly to IPC Advertising director of marketing and strategy, Neil Perkin.

Perkin explained the departmental reshuffle, stating:”It makes perfect sense to integrate the creative resource across our monthly and weekly women’s titles. We’ve responded to demand from advertisers and agencies, increased the resource and made that resource more easily accessible. The new department makes for a powerhouse creative team offering great stand out and great value.”

The latest restructuring follows two key appointments within IPC Advertising’s central trading teams, with Matt Downs becoming director of corporate key accounts, and Antony Marcou taking a new role as head of corporate business development (see IPC Appoints New Ad Bosses To Trading Teams).
