IPC Restructures Ad Management For Greater Creativity

Consumer magazine publisher IPC Media has announced a dramatic restructuring of its advertising department, gearing up towards a more unique advertising programme and greater use of tailored ad packages.

While IPC Advertising will remain a unified brand entity, four main changes will be made within its management team. These will see IPC SouthBank group ad director Mark Reen reporting directly to SouthBank managing director Sandy Whetton and IPC ignite! group ad director Karl Marsden reporting to managing director Tim Brooks.

Cathy Neale, the IPC Classified group ad director will report to Country & Leisure Media managing director Paul Williams, who already has responsibility for the division’s group ad sales. The Central Sales teams, including Business Development, Key Accounts, Innovator, Ad Marketing, IPC’s regional sales team in Manchester as well as the tx/Connect group sales teams will report to the new IPC group advertising director.

Commenting on the management reshuffle, IPC chief executive Sylvia Auton said: “The industry is demanding more innovation and more creativity in our ad offering. This structure provides IPC with the perfect framework to build on the proven success and strength of IPC Advertising while facilitating more tailored ad solutions for our client and agency partners.”

The restructuring follows a similar reshuffle in September last year, when IPC announced it was reconfiguring its senior advertising management to enable more growth in the company’s new areas of business s(see IPC Advertising Restructures Senior Management Team).
