The Independent Radio and Television Commission has agreed to allow the merger of two regional radio stations in the south of Ireland, putting Shannonside Radio and Northern Sound Radio under the umbrella of Midland Radio Group Ltd.
The group consists of the original shareholders from both stations and they will operate from their present bases. Shannonside originally broadcast to the franchise area of Roscommon/Longford /South Leitrim and Northern Sound to Cavan and Monaghan.
