Italy And UK Lead European Online Advertising Markets

Italy and the UK currently lead the way in the European online advertising market, with market shares of ads placed at 19.1% and 18.9% respectively, according to data from LemonAd. Germany has more online advertisers than the UK (5,424 versus 5,231), but had fewer campaigns and actual ads during the first six months of the year.

Around 36% of ads were placed on editorial and content sites, followed by ecommerce sites (14%) and search engines (8%). This pattern emerges broadly across all European countries, according to the LemonAd research.
