AOL UK has announced that they will be working with ITN in a video clips deal, as the online firm continues to try and establish itself as a content rich destination.

ITN won the content deal after a competitive pitch; Kate Burns, head of AOL in Europe said: “ITN is a leading provider of a wide range of high-quality video content and this deal builds on our strategy to inform, entertain and connect with our users.”

They will now be providing hundreds of videos each week to the AOL website. AOL UK will decide which ones to launch each day.

The ITN clips provide news covering both UK and worldwide issues, along with sports, celebrity, entertainment and lifestyle content.

Each video will range in length, from one to six minutes long.

“By bolstering video across the AOL UK platform, we’re offering advertisers even more opportunities to reach our engaged audiences as we programme the most compelling multimedia experiences across our rich, topical and trusted content,” added Burns.

This news follows on from AOL’s ‘new identity’, which they unveiled last year, after breaking away from Time Warner.
