Over on BBC One was the final instalment of Fight For Life, the series tracking the human body and how it responds to sudden illness or traumatic injury over its life span.

The show, which utilises hi-tech imagery and CGI wizardry, had a peak audience of 3.2 million adults (a 15.6% share).

As part of the BBC’s India and Pakistan season, BBC Two aired India with Sanjeev Bhaskar at 9pm, which had a peak of 2.4 million adults (a 12% share).

At 8pm, Channel 4 screened Enemies Of Reason, the new series from everyone’s favourite evolutionary biologist, Professor Richard Dawkins.
