JCDecaux And News Corp End Sale Talks

JCDecaux Logo JCDecaux is not going to buy News Corporation’s outdoor advertising business, News Outdoor Group, due to the current “market conditions”.

JCDecaux and News Corp released a joint statement saying they have ended talks of a deal, after a month of discussions.

The statement said: “Both companies recognise that economic and capital market conditions have made it increasingly difficult to conclude strategic partnerships on this scale.”

The outdoor advertising company, JCDecaux, entered exclusive talks with Rupert Murdoch’s company to buy its outdoor division on September 11.

Just last week, Jean-Charles Decaux was reported as saying that the current economic situation would not affect the company’s bid to buy News Outdoor.

JCDecaux generated more than £1.64 billion in revenue last year and remains the second largest outdoor advertising agency in the world, according to reports.
